Shirt-Old Navy, Skirt-Thrifted, Shoes-Target, Belt-came with a skirt, Necklace-Jcrew

I think I've done a post by this name before...
Sorry I've been m.i.a lately.
I am kinda in a funk.
Does anyone else get into those?
{if you don't, just say you do to make me feel better}

Lately I've been trying to figure out what I want this blog to be.
Part of me wants it to be a positive place where I just focus on all thats good and easy.
And then another part of me wants to be completely real.
The good and the bad.

For those of you that any input?

  1. First, this is a adorable outfit. I love the bright colors and mixing of prints. That blue maxi skirt is beyond wonderful. And I am having some serious hair envy after seeing these pictures!

Second, I think it can be hard to find that happy medium. I know I had the same struggle with my blog. Be positive all the time and start feeling fake? Or be realistic when things get bad and start feeling like a downer? I think it has a lot to do with what blogging means to you. Do you need a place to vent and get rid of negative feelings? Maybe test out an honest post or two and see how it feels for you and your readers. Personally, I appreciate a blogger who can be a little more honest about life. It makes a blog feel more real and positive, in the long run. Hope that helps! Adore your blog!

  2. I have the same pair of flats! And I really like the color and cut of your skirt. You look cute.

I run into the same problem when it comes to blogging. No one's life is happy go lucky all the time, and people know that! I think it's helpful to post about "real" stuff, but with a positive attitude....if that makes sense? I haven't completely figured it out myself, since I'm new to this whole blogging world.

Keep up the good work! I'm really glad I found your blog from Pleated Poppy!

  3. super cute outfit!i've seen the necklace around, and might need to make a trip to jcrew. my blog is all over the place...make it your journal, good to share both.

  4. It's hard to find your voice when it comes to blogging. I spent years with my blog under another name before I realized it just wasn't where I wanted to be or what I wanted to ALWAYS discuss.

It's fine to have a blog that is nothing but upbeat and positive but in the end I think being true to yourself is what will get you the furthest and give you the most out of your blogging experience. I'm learning this slowly but surely.

Keep it upbeat, fun and positive but don't be fearful to let your true feelings out from time to time too :)

  5. I think you can find a mix of both. Nobody is always perfect and happy and I think people like to know you are a real person. I definitely think you can find a positive mix of them both. I love your outfit by the way!

  6. wow- what an interesting necklace! just blog what you feel is interesting :) x

  7. This is such a great outfit! That JCrew necklace just steals the show :) And you know what? Don't over think it! Just post things that you love and find a groove, the rest will follow!

  8. cuuuute outfit! xoxo linds ((
